October 31st.

Do you consider it a holiday? regardless, enjoy my poem.

Happy youngsters going door to door asking for treats,

Adamant drivers hopefully slowing down on the streets,

Large bags of candy are inspected by parents being careful,

Looking out for children is indeed paramount and universal,

Orange coin boxes were part of my night out as an eager kid,

Welcoming money for UNICEF was also what I and many did,

Eventually our treat hunt ends and we get home safe and sound,

Even after a sugar rush the donations were key as we unwound,

November begins and schools submit those boxes by the pounds!

P.S. This piece makes reference to Halloween for myself when I was

a child way back when, I hope you liked my work, have a wonderful

weekend; until next time, keep on creating to all of my loyal readers

and supporters, thank you kindly for your ongoing interest and support.
